1. Purpose
This KYC / AML Policy outlines how Digicounted LTD (“Digicounted,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) prevents money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other financial crime.
It is designed to comply with the UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017, UK GDPR, and the expectations of UK-regulated payment service providers (PSPs).
2. Scope
This Policy applies to all Digicounted users, including customers, affiliates, and resellers who receive commissions or payouts.
3. KYC Obligations
Digicounted verifies the identity of resellers before releasing funds or enabling withdrawals.
Identity verification is performed using Persona, a third-party KYC provider that supports secure ID-document validation, biometric liveness checks, sanctions screening, and PEP screening.
4. Verification Trigger
KYC is required at the earliest of the following events:
When the reseller requests their first withdrawal.
When cumulative unpaid commissions reach ÂŁ100.
When an account is flagged by automated or manual risk checks.
Funds are not payable until verification is complete.
5. Identity Checks Performed
Persona may request one or more of the following documents or data points:
Government-issued ID (passport, national ID, or driving licence)
Selfie or liveness biometric capture
Proof of address or residency
Business registration documents (if operating as a business entity)
All checks are encrypted and transmitted securely.
6. Risk-Based Monitoring
Digicounted performs ongoing monitoring to detect suspicious behaviour, including:
Transactions inconsistent with profile
Mismatched IP or device fingerprints
Excessive refunds or chargeback patterns
Use of VPNs or high-risk geographies
Sanctions or PEP list matches
Where risk is identified, Digicounted may request enhanced due diligence (EDD), delay payouts, request additional documentation, or suspend accounts.
7. Data Protection and Storage
Identity data collected for verification is stored securely and processed in accordance with UK GDPR.
Digicounted does not store raw payment card information.
Identity data is retained only as long as required for regulatory compliance.
8. Reporting Suspicious Activity
Digicounted will escalate suspicious behaviour to relevant PSPs and regulatory bodies where required by law.
We may file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with competent UK authorities where appropriate.
9. Failure to Complete Verification
If a reseller fails to complete verification when required:
Payouts will not be processed
Commissions may be frozen pending review
The account may be suspended or terminated
10. Policy Review
This Policy is reviewed annually, or sooner if regulatory or operational requirements change.
